Basement Insulation
Basement spray foam insulation bonds to poured concrete, block or old fieldstone and holds its R-value even when a spring thaw leaves the floor wet.
View Basement InsulationAttic spray foam insulation stuffs every gap around pot lights, wiring and the hatch, then builds enough depth to keep the second floor cozy through a long Wilmot winter.
Floors and furniture below the hatch get covered, the attic gets swept out when we finish, and the price is on paper before anyone climbs the ladder.
A house loses heat through its attic two ways. Some soaks through a thin layer of insulation, and a lot more rushes out through openings in the ceiling. The openings usually cost you more.
With attic spray foam insulation, those openings get shut for good. Pot lights, bath fans, plumbing stacks, wire holes drilled through the top plates and the hatch itself all get foamed shut. In an older brick house off Huron Street or Peel Street, the gaps along the wall tops can be wide enough to slide fingers into.
Option one seals and covers the attic floor. Foam goes over the gaps and top plates, then we add inches until the ceiling hits the R-value you are after. The attic stays cold and vented, the way the roof was designed.
Option two coats the underside of the roof sheathing, which pulls the attic into the warm zone of the house. That approach fits finished attics, cathedral ceilings and any attic holding a furnace or ductwork. On a roof deck, attic spray foam insulation is nearly always closed cell, because it handles vapour along with heat.
You hear which option suits your attic, and why, before we put a number on it.
Ice dams build when house heat warms the roof and melts the snow from underneath. That water trickles to the cold overhang and freezes solid. Give it a few weeks and the ice ridge can force water up under the shingles.
A ceiling sealed with attic spray foam insulation leaves the roof sheathing cold, so the snow sits frozen until spring. With roughly 160 cm of snow most winters, that makes a real difference here.
Plenty of older bathroom fans in Wilmot blow straight into the attic, or their flex duct has slipped off the roof cap. Every shower then pumps warm, wet air onto the cold underside of the roof, and by March the nails are frosted and the sheathing is stained.
Before any attic spray foam insulation goes on, we check where each fan and kitchen vent ends up. A loose duct gets reconnected to its cap, so the moisture leaves the house instead of soaking into the wood.
Open cell on an attic floor or rafters runs roughly $2.50 to $4.50 a square foot. Closed cell sprayed to a roof deck runs roughly $3.50 to $7. Attic size, foam depth and how tight the access is all move the figure.
The visit costs nothing and pins down the real number. We measure, check the soffit and roof vents, and write out the product, depth and area for every section.
Soaked, flattened or droppings-filled insulation needs to come out before we spray. That happens through our insulation removal service and goes on the same quote.
Dial (548) 290-9844 or use the request box to have us climb up for a look, and the attic spray foam insulation visit costs nothing. We try to return every message before the workday is over. Every other kind of foam work we do is listed on the home page.
Plenty of jobs here span two or three areas, and doing them in one trip saves a second setup.
